Sacrificial Coatings for Aerospace Applications

 

Customer Requirement:  A polymer coating filled with a large quantity of ceramic and metallic fillers for an aerospace application.

 

Challenges:

• Coating should burn-off at 400°C, without leaving any polymer residue (only ceramic fillers)

• Coating should be applied using the customer’s equipment

• Additional 4 requirements

 

Process:

• Different types of coating chemistries were evaluated

• Coatings were optimized for the existing production equipment

 

Solution:  TecSolut developed the optimal coating and the customer commercialized the product. TecSolut is manufacturing this coating for customer.
